MESSAGE Welcome to Baekje Cultural Land webpage.

Baekje Cultural Land is constructed in an area of 3,276,000㎡ in Hapjeong, Buyeo, Chungnam Province. The Land has many interesting sites and buildings for visitors to see. Government-owned sites include Sabiseong-a combination of royal palace, temple and community village, Baekje Historical Museum, the Korea National University of Cultural Heritage, Private-owned facilities include accommodations (condo and spa village), theme park, themed outlet mall, and sports facility (golf club).

The master plan for this Land was finalized in 1994, and the construction began in 1997, and currently, all the public facilities are open and the parts of the private facilities are to be completed by 2013. With all the private sectors completed, the Land will have the first and foremost historical theme park.

Baekje Cultural Land is the first restored Baekje palace in the country. The buildings in the palace and the temple show down pointing cantilever architecture, and the gracefully painted tiles represent the sophisticated art trend in Baekje's architecture. All buildings in Sabiseong will help you better understand the artistic and historical values of Baekje.

Of special note, the Baekje Historical Museum opened in 2006 is an educational arena focusing solely on all historical aspects of Baekje, which is unique compared to other museums. It has a regular exhibition hall, special exhibition hall, guilt bronze incense burner cinema, I-Baekje exploratorium and other display and training halls.

Baekje is now poised to reemerge and open its grand door to its stunningly beautiful culture and colorful history after its 1,400 years of silence. Over a decade of research and analysis, the Land is proud to welcome all of you. Come and enjoy what Baekje is all about right here in Baekje Cultural Land.
